Key Stages 1 and 2

April-September

A series of hands-on activities in chalk grassland, pond and woodland habitats. Uses vital scientific concepts and provides an understanding of the natural environment:

  • Plant and animal structure, function, requirements and adaptations
  • Habitat comparisons
  • Invertebrate collecting, sorting and identifying
  • Close observation and naming of wildflowers
  • Lifecycles and food chains / webs
  • Observation beehive, interdependence of plants and animals
  • Biodiversity, park management and care of the environment
  • Includes Pond Dipping and Mini-Beasts.
